PROJECT 2: APARTMENT COMPLEX
A Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is a project that mixes residential, business, and commercial use with the goal of minimizing the use of land and to maximize the access of public transportation. TOD is designed to bring people, buildings, and public spaces together with easy walking distance, cycling, and transit services.
CONCEPT
For this project we have to design an 84 unit apartment complex for a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD).
An empty lot located in East Farmingdale in the Town of Babylon was chosen as our site.
The site is located at the corner of Conklin Ave and New Highway, across the street from Stew Leonard's.
The LIRR is located right behind the site.
The apartment complex must consist of 84 units, which includes:
-
8 micro units
-
8 studio units
-
20 1 bedroom 1 bathroom units
-
20 2 bedroom 1 bathroom units
-
20 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units
-
